IBM Water for Africa
Water scarcity is a global crisis. IBM is tackling this problem by using the cloud to help millions in sub-Saharan Africa easily get water. In fact, IBM has been tackling human problems for over 100 years, but today’s generation is unaware of it.
To put IBM back on the map, we told a story of how water affects the lives of a family living in Northern Kenya through social content and a physical installation in Nairobi. As a result, IBM became the top trending brand during World Water Week, amplifying the conversation around water and showing how relevant stories can help turn a brand around.
We built an installation using the refractive properties of water to tell a real-life story of Rebecca, symbolising how water can turn around millions of lives.
We also filmed a documentary to showcase the IBM solution in the IBM Research Lab Nairobi and the remote areas of Turkana, Kenya
